Local Churches Sponsor Movie at City Auditorium

The Grace Card will be shown Sunday evening at the Cochran City Auditorium located on Second Street.  Admission is free. 

The movie is being sponsored by Mount Zion Baptist Church, Faith Temple, Be A Doer Church, House Of Grace, and Marathan Baptist Church.

Motorcade to Dodge County Schedule Change

Friday's  Royal Touchdown Club motorcade to Dodge County has a new time and location. 

Those wishing to participate should meet in the current BCHS gym parking lot at 5:45 pm.  The group will leave at 6 pm along with the Royal Kingsmen Band and BCHS Cheerleaders.  As both groups always travel with an escort anyway, there will be a sheriff's department escort for the trip to Eastman.  Kickoff for Friday's game is 7:30 pm.  Fans are encouraged to wear all purple for a "purple out."

If you want to learn more about public education in Georgia, or have suggestions for Georgia education, this meeting is for you:

Takes place on Thursday, November 10 on Mary Persons freshman campus in Forsyth. The meeting starts at 7 p.m.

You will also have a chance to meet Eighth Congressional District State Board of Education Member Wanda Barrs.

The meeting is at 25-A Brooklyn Ave. in Forsyth.

Royal Touchdown Club to Sponsor Motorcade for BCHS Fans

The Bleckley County High School Royals Touchdown Club is sponsoring a motorcade on Friday night in support of the football team as it will travel to Dodge County Friday night to meet the Indians on the field.

Anyone interested in participating should meet at the high school at 6 p.m. as the motorcade will leave at 6:15.

Wear your purple on Friday and "purple out."

First Baptist Haynesville Holds Fall Festival

The First Baptist Church of Haynesville held its annual family fall festival on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Several hundred people from all over central Georgia came to enjoy the event.

There were games, food, entertainment and much more for them to do. The proceeds from the events cake walk andfood sales and silent auction were to go to missions and more than $1800 was raised.

Fall for Eastman 12th Annual Fall Festival will be held Saturday, October 29 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. along Main Street in downtown Eastman.


The Downtown Decoration contest kicked off October 10th and lasts through the festival.

Awards include Best Overall and Kid’s Choice. Register for your lamp post at Coleman Gifts and Framing located at 215 Main Street for $10 per post or call 478-374-4860.
