Pair of churches holding special services November 24.

Two Cochran churches will be holding special PM services on November 24. Limestone Baptist Church located at 874 GA 257 will hold their "Hanging of the Green" service to mark the start of the season of Advent at 6 pm. First Baptist Church will hold a community Thanksgiving service at 6 pm in the Fellowship Hall featuring music by the FBC Praise Band and special message by Pastor Keith Rustin. The church is located at 102 S. Second Street.

Cold night doesn't dampen Halloween fun.

Though some outdoor events had to be moved inside due to afternoon storms and cold temperatures, it didn't prevent people from enjoying Halloween Thursday night. Click here to view photos.

Cochran Police Department "Unity in the Community" Family Day November 2.

Cochran Police Department will hold their fourth annual "Unity in the Community" Family Day November 2 from 10 am to 1 pm.  The free event will feature inflatables (bounce houses and slides), rock wall, mechanical bulldog, as well as popcorn and snow cones.

It didn't feel much like fall Saturday. There was a chance of rain that never materialized. Still, many churches who had fall festivals planned went through with them with those attending having a great time.  Click here for more.

Gospel group The Diplomats will perform at Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church October 27 at 10:30 am.  It's located at 101 Church Street in Cochran.

Bleckley 21st Century Parent's Night October 22

Bleckley 2st Century CCLC will hold a parent's night October 22 in the Pre-K cafeteria, 242 E. Dykes Street.  A representative from the U.S. Census Bureau will be on hand to provide info on how to fill out the 2020 census.  Light refreshments will be served.

BCHS One Act to present a tale as old as time.

Enjoy a "tale as old as time" when Bleckley County High School One Act performs this year's competition piece, "Beauty and the Beast, Jr." Showtimes are October 20 at 3 pm, October 22 and 24 at 7 pm. Admission $6 for adults, $3 for students. Enchanted roses will be on sale for $2. Get a picture with your favorite cast member for $3.
