Story Time at the Library January 18.

Story Time at the Tessie W. Norris/Cochran-Bleckley Library will be January 18 at 10 am.  Presented by the Bleckley County Retired Educators, readers will be Dale and Alice Mullis.

Martin Luther King Day Parade January 16.

The annual Martin Luther King Day parade will be January 16 at 1 pm.  Lineup is at 11:30 am at the Gateway parking lot on the campus of Middle Georgia State University on Cook Road.  The parade will go through downtown Cochran along Second Street ending at Roberson and Son Barber Shop.  For more information, call Doris Harris, (478)397-4797.

Cochran churches holding services on Christmas Eve and Day.

With Christmas Day falling on a Sunday, the thoughts of many turn to worship.  Here is a partial list of churches holding services on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day.

Cochran church to hold karaoke night, New Year's event.

House of Grace, located at 133 Jac Arts Road in Cochran, willl have Coffee, cookies, & kaaroke December 28 from 7-8 pm.  They'll host a New Year's Eve praise party from 6-9 pm on December 31.  For more information, visit them at houseofgracecochran.org

Winter Wonderland Express pulls out of Cochran.

Saturday night was the final time at Heartland EMS for this year's Winter Wonderland Express presented by Pilot Club of Cochran.  Hundreds came out to see the lights outside and to take pictures with their favorite princesses and other colorful characters inside.

Children's crafts night will benefit student mission trip.

First Baptist Church of Cochran will hold "Christmas Kiddie Crafts" in the Fellowship Halll December 10 from 5-9 pm.  Cost is $20 per child and is for children in Pre K-fifth grade.  Activities include watching The Polar Express, making ornaments, Christmas Bingo, and cookie decorating.  You can register in advance by clicking here.  Proceeds will benefit the senior student mission trip to Uganda this summer.

Christmas activities at Bleckley churches beginning this weekend.

December is here.  It means Christmas is getting closer.  Several local churches will be holding musicals or special services this weekend.  They include First Baptist Church's children's musical December 4 at 5:30 pm and Salem Baptist Church's "Blue Christmas, A service of hope and remembrance" that same night at 6 pm.
