Cochran church celebrating 150-year anniversary October 16.

Cochran First United Methodist Church will celebrate 150 years at 119 E Dykes St and 100 years worshiping in the same sanctuary October 16 at 11 am.  Special music by church handbells and chavel choir.  North Central District Superintendnet Dr. Rick Lanford will be guest speaker.  Covered dish lunch to follow in the Fellowship Hall.

Elise Hill exhibition opening at Middle Georgia State October 10.

A Gallery Talk and Opening Reception for Elise Hill's Exhibition "Fleeting Objects" will be held in Peacock Gallery at Middle Georgia State University October 10 from 6-7 pm.  Peacock Gallery is located inside Russell Hall on the Cochran campus. The exhibition will be on display October 10-November 4. Gallery hours are 8 am-5:30 pm Monday-Thursday, 8 am-noon Fridays.

Cochran Bleckley CountryFest October 15.

CountryFest, presented by the Cochran-Bleckley Chamber of Commerce, will be October 15 in downtown Cochran.  Festival from 10 am-5 pm featuring arts and crafts, food, and entertainment as well as kid's pit stop presented by local churches.  Street dance that night from 6-9 pm with the Double Barrell Band.

14th annual Fall Buddy Ball October 1.

The 14th annual Fall Buddy Ball games will be held October 1 at the Cochran Bleckley Rec. Department.  Buddy Ball is special needs baseball for special needs children who normally wouldn't get to participate in team sports. Games are for children ages 3-18 in Bleckley, Dodge, and Pulaski Counties.  Be there by 9:45 am to register, games start at 10.  Lunch provided.

Story Time at the Library September 21.

Story Time at the Tessie W. Norris/Cochran-Bleckley Library will be September 21 at 10 am.  Presented by the Bleckley County Retired Educators, readers will be Dale and Kathy Jones.

Cochran church holding Revival services September 18-21.

Bethany Baptist Church will hold Revival services September 18-21.  Times are 11 am and 6 pm that Sunday and 7 pm Monday-Wednesday.  Guest speaker will be former pastor Bobby Harrell.  A family night meal will be held in the Fellowship Hall before the final service at 6 pm.  Bring a vegetable, side dish, or desert.

Second annual Cochran Bleckley Arts Alliance Sidewalk Art contest August 6.

The Cochran Bleckley Arts Alliance will hold their second annual sidewalk art contest August 6 at 9 am in the building's parking lot (142 E Dykes St) next to the Tessie W. Norris Library.  It's open to children of all ages. Registration is free, materials provided.  Prizes awarded and coffee will be available for parents.
