Celebrate math, literacy, and Dr. Seuss at Bleckley Primary March 1.

Bleckley Primary  will hold math and literacy night March 1.  The drop-in event is from 4-6 pm.  Shop at the book fair, bring books to trade at the book swap, win books at the book walk.  It'll also be a celebration of Dr. Seuss including giving out Dr. Seuss treat bags to the first 50 BCPS students who attend.

It was a night for girls from Pre K through fifth to be the center of attention of their dad or other escort.  A night to dance, take pictures, eat sweets, and visit with friends.  It was the annual Bleckley PTO Father Daughter Dance.

Bleckley Elementary Winter Festival February 1.

Bleckley Elementary will hold their annual Winter Festvial February 1 from 5:30-7:30 pm.  Bingo, Hay Ride, Happy Hair, Pizza Parlor, Bouncy Obsticle Course, much more.  Auction with over 50 items.  Admission $2.  Rides four for $1, or 25 for $5.

Story Time at the Library January 17.

Story Time at the Tessie W. Norris/Cochran-Bleckley Library will be January 17 at 10 am.  Presented by the Bleckley County Retired Educators, reader will be Lynne Sanders.

Fish and fellowship for a good cause.

First Baptist Church of Cochran's Brotherhood Outdoor Ministry held a benefit fish fry Thursday night in the Fellowship Hall.  BCHS Assistant Athletic Director Stacy Nobles was guest speaker.  Proceeds will go toward the medical expenses of local man Brian Smith as he battles cancer as well as a needy family during Christmas.

The Winter Wondelrand Express pulled back into Cochran for the second of four visits Saturday night.  There were Christmas lights adorning the outside of Heartland EMS, and a bright, colorful world of princesses, super heroes, and other fun things inside.
