That's thanks to the U.S. Department of Agriculture working with Bleckley County School Nutrition Program, a news release says.

The program will operate from May 16-July 27th, with a holiday closing on July 4th.

Award Honoring Bleckley Woman's Fight Against Cancer Unveiled at Baseball Banquet

Though worn down by a battle with cancer, Trina Anderson Fountain made an appearance at last fall's middle school region cross country championship.

She was there to watch her nephew, seventh grader Carrington Anderson run.  Trina succumbed to the disease this past February.

But her courage throughout left lasting impressions on all who knew her.

Thursday evening, that spirit was recognized at the Bleckley Middle School baseball awards banquet.

The first ever Trina Anderson Fountain award was presented.

As head coach Phillip Hart explained, the award was for someone who tried hard, didn't quit, and never complained, just as Trina lived her life.

Carrington was the awards inaugural recipient.
