Welcoming 2013: Making the Most of the New Year

Welcoming 2013: Making the Most of the New Year

Today is my first day in the office for 2013. I intentionally took time off over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays to step back from work, enjoy my family and clear my head. Now I’m back and ready to hit the ground running! How about you?

In the past I’ve never been much of a believer in writing down my goals or making them for that matter. It all seemed a little woo-woo and out there. Public Fishing Area to Close for Leak Detection, Repair

Public Fishing Area to Close for Leak Detection, Repair

The Ocmulgee Public Fishing Area closes for leak detection and repair in the main lake.

According to a Georgia Department of Natural Resources news release, the PFA closes on November 7.

"The lake was last at full pool in April 2011, but due to low water levels, the boat ramps were closed in August at the PFA. Since that time, pool levels have continued to drop and now the lake sits at more than 17 feet below pool."

DNR personnel will move remaining fish and place them in other PFAs.

"The remaining lake pool will be drained and an engineering firm will provide an assessment with repair options.  Regardless of the repair needs, the area is expected to re-open by Spring 2014," according to the release.

Charlene Davis, 37, is one too. She wanted to be a wrestling announcer/valet when she was growing up. She said, “The first thing I bought with my own money was a stack of wrestling magazines lol. That was back in high school.”

She has her endorsed diploma with a vocational seal, and when she has free time, she “loves to read and write poetry. But today she is an SAHM, and that is OK.
