Lady Royals Unable to Hold Leads at Dodge County | HS Sports
Seeking to avenge an earlier loss as well as pick up their first win on Saturdays this season, the BCHS softball team built a 3-0 lead after half an inning against Dodge County Saturday. In third, freshman Taylor Dykes' first career home run, a two-run shot, made it 5-2.,
Margaret Simmons' two-run blast in the home half made it 5-4. Aided by by four errors, the Lady Indians scored eight. BC loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth. The next batter lined out, the runner at third did not get back in time. With runners at first and second and two outs, the following batter struck out.
Four Dodge runs in the sixth ended the game, 14-5. Three players accounted for six of the seven team hits, all of which came in the first four innings. Dykes finished 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Leslie Holland, back after an ankle injury, was 2 for 3 with an RBI double. Taylor Little went 2 for 3 with an RBI triple.
Bleckley hosts Hawkinsville Monday at 5 p.m.
