Lady Royals Split Semifinal Playoff Games | HS Sports
After a pair of extra inning thrillers in the first round, BCHS sought to keep their region softball title hopes alive as they traveled to Roberta to take on second seed Crawford County. Bleckley had lost to the Lady Eagles 7-2 in the regular season.
Trailing 3-0 after three innings, Allie Keel's RBI groundout make it a two-run game. BC had their fourth error of the game as Crawford went back up three in the home half. Though a pair of two-out runs in the fifth made it 4-3, they got no closer and lost game one 6-3.
Lauren Powell was 2 for 3 . Taylor Dykes went 2 for 4. Playing as the home team in gme two, the Lady Royals built a 4-0 lead after three innings. Chelsea Brady's bunt sngle in the fifth made it 5-0. Three sixth inning errors factored into two Crawford runs. BCHS had a perfect defensive seventh to force game three winning 5-2.
Dykes was 1 for 2 with an RBI groundout. Hannah Coulter and Fellisia Young were 2 for 4. Brady finished 1 for 2. Game three will be Friday at 5 pm in Roberta with the winner to play Monticello for the region title.
