Late Errors Cost Lady Royals In Playoff Seeding Game | HS Sports
BCHS looked to bounce back from a dissappointing semifinal series when they hosted Putnam County Tuesday. The winner of Tuesday's seeding game would finish third in 4-AA.
Down 5-0 in the second, ten runners came to the plate as BC tied the score. They missed a pair of scoring opportunities, two on with one out in the fourth as well as stranding Fellisia Young at third after she led off with a single.
A dropped fly ball then overthrow led to three Lady Eagle runs in the seventh. However, Young's two out single in the home half capped a three-run rally by the Lady Royals. PC got two in the eighth, the second on an error. Though one run scored in the home half, the tying runner was left at second in a 10-9 Lady Royal loss.
Young finished 3 for 5 with 3 RBI. Taylor Dykes was 3 for 4 with an RBI single. Taylor Little went 2 for 5 with an RBI sigle.
State playoffs begin October 16. Bleckley play at the top seed in 2-AA. Their tournament begins October 9.
