Lady Royals Have Good Week at PawPrint Classic | HS Sports

The BCHS softball team got ready for the coming season this week by playing in the PawPrint Classic scrimmage tournament hosted by Mary Persons High School.  Games were held at the Monroe County Recreation Compex.  The games allowed coaches Janice Bryan and Teresa Long to try players at different positions as well as evaluate new players wishing to try out including four freshmen. 

After storms forced cancellation Monday, Bleckley had back to back three-game days Wednesday and Friday.  They lost, won, and tied on Wednesday with their last game versus Greenbrier being stopped early due to another storm.  Friday, the first time it didn't rain, BCHS picked up wins against Northside, Jasper County, and Eagles Landing Christian Academy.

Tryouts will be held next week.  Included in the tryouts will be three scrimmage games played as part of an umpire's training clinic Tuesday at Southern Pines.
