Lady Royals Get Walk Off Win Versus Monticello | HS Sports
BCHS, winners of six of their last seven, looked to keep their hopes of a top seed in the upcoming region playoffs alive with a home win Thursday versus Monticello. Taylor Little's second home run of the game and of the season, a two-run shot, capped a four run bottom of the fifth giving the Lady Royals a 5-1 lead. Monticello answered with four in the sixth to go up 6-5.
Lindsey Dabbs' second double of the game made it 6-6 going to the seventh. It would stay that way through seven, meaning a tiebreaker. The Lady Canes scored once in the top of the eighth. Emily Lawson's second hit of the game in the home half tied the score. Nicole Tomlinson followed with her first hit of the game. Elizabeth Mathis sacrifed both runners into scoring position.
A Dabbs walk loaded the bases. Emmie Meadows' second hit of the game gave Bleckley an 8-7 win. She finished 2 for 5 with a double. Dabbs was 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles. Mathis went 2 for 3. Little finished 2 for 4 with 3 RBI. Lawson was 2 for 4. Leslie Holland went 2 for 4 with a double.
With the win, Bleckley and Putnam Couty remain tied for first in 4-AA, with Putnam retaining the head to head tiebreaker. A BC win at Northeast next week combined with a Putnam loss to Monticello puts the Lady Royals in first place.
