Newest Dodge Grapplers Compete
Since 2007, the Dodge County Wrestling Club has been a place for kids to learn the sport of wrestling, get in better shape, and embrace sportsmanship on the wrestling mat. Twice a week, about 20 kids ages 5-12 head to the Dodge County Wrestling gym to challenge themselves and learn the fundamentals of the sport. For the latest crop of young wrestling talent their season started back in August at the mini-camp. For several months these young grapplers have been preparing to make their USA Wrestling tournament debut. Recently, four of these young boys traveled to Canton, GA to compete in their first ever wrestling tournament. Dawning their official Dodge County Wrestling singlets and headgear, each of these youngsters took a huge step in their young careers and in their young lives. They stepped out on the mat in front of a packed gym and overcame their fears, tested their mental and physical toughness, and most importantly; they had fun. When the dust settled, all four boys walked away with a tremendous experience and a medal proudly worn around their necks. They have taken a major step forward for the future of Dodge County Wrestling.
