Boys Have Big Night from Three as BC Sweeps Taylor | HS Sports
After nearly a month away, BCHS returned home Tuesday to take on Taylor County. The Vikings, new to AA, have a strong basketball tradition with both teams having made appearances in Macon during the final four. Dewanda Blackshear had seven points and Alexis Woodfaulk scores six in the second as the Lady Royals turned what had been a ten-point game into a 41-27 halftime lead.
N'yasia Anderso had eight of her team high 14 in the third. Bleckley hit the 70 point mark for the third time this season, winning 70-35. Woodfaulk scored a season-high 11. Tia Troup added 10.
When Mario Beck hit a three late in the first half, it shouldn't have come as a surprise. The Royals had already hit four in the first quarter. Up 41-38 at halftime, D'Andre Pitts capped had back to back three's, capping another with four in the quarter, to make it an 11-point game.
Bleckley wound up hitting 13 from three-point range, the most ever under current head coach Cliff Kerbo, in an 83-67 win. Beck scored 31, including 12 in the second. Rydealous Taylor had 24. Ken Hughes had a second straight double figure game with 10 points.
BCHS plays at Lamar County Friday. Both JV will be in action starting at 4 pm. Varsity follows at 7.
