BCHS sweeps Raiders at home

When the Lady Royals and West Laurens faced off two weeks ago, the Lady Raiders used the third quarter to rally from a 17-point deficit.  Saturday in Cochran, the teams were tied at 25 going to the third.  This time it was Bleckley having a big quarter, outscoring WL 25-9.

BCHS went on to a 63-48 win.  Dewanda Blackshear scored nine of her team high 18 in the first quarter.  Cam Tillman had 10 of her 12 points in the second half.  Both N'yasia Anderson and Tia Troup scored nine of their 11 points in the second half.

The Royals struggled to score during the first half when they last met the Raiders.  Saturday, Bleckley had no such problem.  Up nine after one quarter, three's by D'Andre Pitts and Rydealous Taylor were part of a 17-6 run.  A 17-point third quarter lead was 58-36 after three thanks to another Taylor three.

BC had their biggest margin of victory this season in an 82-42 win.  Taylor finished with 23.  Mario Beck led the way with 27.  Ken Hughes added 13.  It'll be varsity only when Putnam County visits Cochran Tuesday.  Tip time is 6 pm.
