BCHS Sweeps Past Putnam County | HS Sports
In a rematch of the region opener, BCHS welcomed Putnam County to Cochran Tuesday. The teams split last time as the Lady Royals lost a pair of leads while the Royals won despite struggles on offense.
Cam Tillman's eighth point of the half and Myeshia Moore's sixth of the second quarter gave the Lady Royals an 11-point halftime lead. It grew to 15 in the third but BC went without a basket over the final four minutes. The Lady Eagles were within 34-28 going to the fourth.
Bleckley opened the fourth on a 10-1 run. It would be enough in a 50-39 victory. Tia Troup scored 15. Tillman finished with 12. Dewanda Blackshear added 10.
Mario Beck had 13 first quarter points for the Royals. In the second, Rydealous Taylor topped that, and outscored the entire Eagle team by himself 20-6 as what was an eight-point lead was 49-19 at halftime. The lead was 35 as the fourth quarter began.
Reserves finished the game in an 84-28 win. Taylor finished with 28 Beck had 24. Ken Hughes scored 26. Bleckley plays at Crawford County Friday. Tip time is 7 p.m.
