The Royals trailed 5-2 going to the bottom of the fifth of Thursday's home opener versus Veterans High School. Caleb Slaughter's RBI single made it 5-3.

It was dropped. Austin Williams (who had singled to lead off) scored to give Bleckley a 6-5 win. Williams went 1 for 2. Dylan Churchwell went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI. Slaughter was 2 for 4.
Zac Evens went 1 for 2 with a double. BCHS plays at Dodge County Friday. JV play at 4 p.m. with varsity to follow.
