Bleckley County High School Junior Willie Chambers won the state title in his division at the USA Powerlifting Georgia High School Championships held Saturday in Duluth. The BCHS team finished second.

Bleckley had little trouble in their region baseball opener, taking a doubleheader from Northeast by scores of 14-3 and 16-1.  The Royals host Dodge County March 12.  JV play at 4 pm with varsity to follow.

Though Bleckey had just three hits in Thursday night's game against Fitzgerald, they used a fielder's choice, steal of home plate, bases loaded walk, and wild pitch to score enough en route to a 4-2 win.  Brody Little scattered six hits over seven innings.  Tripp Purser went 1 for 2.  The Royals open region play at home today with a doubleheader against Northeast.  Game one starts at 4:30 pm.

A 11-run bottom of the third blew open what was a tie game between the Royals and Red Devils as Bleckley beat their longtime rival 13-1.  To read more, click here.

Bleckley had just two hits in losing to West Laurens at home 2-1 Thursday night.  Carson Waters went 1 for 2.  The Royals host Hawkinsville March 6.  JV play at 4 pm with varsity to follow.

Though Bleckley outhit Jeff Davis 10-8 Tuesday night, multiple missed scoring opportunities, a baserunning mistake, and a costly seventh inning error all led to the Royals 4-3 loss in their home opener.  Click here for more.

Diamond day success gets BCHS first wins of season.

Bleckley picked up their first baseball wins of the season with a pair of victories at Swainsboro High School's Diamond Day. Brody Little gave up one earned run and had seven strikeouts in the Royals 8-1 win over Burke County. He was also 1 for 2. Jack Fernandez went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI. Tripp Purser was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI.

Andrew Thompson went 1 for 2 with 1 RBI. BC capped the day with an 8-4 win against the host Tigers. Little and Lane Kitchens each went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. Joseph Spires was 2 for 4 with double. Steven Knighton went 2 for 5 with 1 RBI.  The Royals home opener is February 25 against Jeff Davis at 6 pm.
