BCHS blasts Northeast to open region play.

The Lady Royals capitalized on 15 walks by Northeast pitching to win their home and region opener 19-0 Tuesday afternoon.   Clara Rickerson was 2 for 2 with 3 RBI. Jordyn Krieg was 2 for 2 with 1 RBI. Reagan Wimberly went 1 for 2 with 1 RBI.  Bleckley plays Pierce County and Bacon County at the Watermelon Classic August 16. Game times are 5:30 and 7:30 pm and will be held at the Crisp County Youth Ball Complex.

BCHS softball falls at Westfield.

In a matchup of GHSA versus GISA schools, the Lady Royals lost at Westfield 8-0 Monday afternoon.  Their home opener is today against Northeast at 5:30 pm.

The August 25 Bleckley County at Dublin softball game has been cancelled as Dublin High School doesn't have a team.

A joint scrimmage was held with BCHS and BCMS football Friday afternoon at Royal Stadium.  Those braving the heat got to see one quarter of varsity versus JV, eighth grade versus ninth grade/JV, as well as the seventh and eighth grade players scrimmaging each other.  The high school will scrimmage at West Laurens August 16, BCMS plays at the Wilcox County Jamboree August 17.

BCHS cheerleader finishes in GCCA Top 40.

Bleckley County High School senior cheerleader Anna Brown tried out for the Georgia Cheerleading Coaches Association All State Squad today at Columbus State University. Though she didn't make the squad, Brown finished in the top 40 from over 140 applicants. Head coach Heather Davis was extremely proud of her being in the top 40 saying "She's beautiful inside and out and I am so proud. I can't wait to see what God has in store for her."
