Early season struggles continue for BCHS baseball.

The Royals fell to 0-4 on the baseball season, losing 11-2 at Jeff Davis Thursday night. Despite getting seven hits, the offense left stranded ten runners for a second straight game. Brody Little and Andrew Thompson each went 2 for 4. Bleckley will play Burke County and Swainsboro High School Saturday at Swainsboro. Game times are 10 am and 3 pm.

Cold bats on a cold night in Dexter.

It was a cold, windy night when BCHS baseball traveled to Dexter to play West Laurens.  The Royal offense was also cold, mustering just four hits in a 6-3 loss.  To read more, click here.

Tough weekend at the beach for BCHS.

Bleckley baseball opened their regular season with a pair of games at Edo Miller Park in Brunswick.  Friday, the Royals lost 5-1 to Gainesville.  Saturday, they cut a 6-2 deficit against Savannah Christian to one but lost 7-5.  BCHS plays at West Laurens Februrary 19.  JV at 4 pm, varsity to follow.

Nykeem Farrow named 3-AA Player of the Year.

Nykeem Farrow named 3-AA Player of the Year.

Bleckley's Nykeem Farrow was named 3-AA basketball Player of the Year at the postseason coaches meeting held Thursday.  Farrow scored his 1000th career points in a win January 15 at Dublin High School.  All region second team selections for BCHS were Shontavian Manuel and Amarion Blackshear.

Weather postpones BCHS sporting events.

Two Bleckley County High School sporting events scheduled for Tuesday were postponed due to weather.  The home tennis matches against Veterans High School were rescheduled for tomorrow in Cochran at 4 pm.  The Royals baseball game against Jeff Davis has been moved to Februay 21 at 6 pm in Hazlehurst.

BCHS baseball loses scrimmage at Veterans.

The Royals baseball team lost Thursday's scrimmage game at Veterans High School 8-2.  Brody Little was 3 for 3 with a double.  BCHS opens the regular season at Jeff Davis February 12.  Game time is 6 pm.

Though Nykeem Farrow signed his letter of intent to play football with Kennesaw State University December 19, he wasn’t recognized for the accomplishment. A ceremony to honor him for the accomplishment, surrounded by family, coaches, teammates, and friends, was held Wednesday afternoon n the BCHS Media Center. This season, Farrow rushed for 1,190 yards on 187 carries and scored 15 touchdowns. He averaged 6.36 yards per rush. Farrow also caught 20 passes for 384 yards with six touchdowns, averaging 16.4 yards per catch.
