Tough weekend as basketball team return to the court.

The BCHS basketball teams returned to the court this weekend playing at Montgomery County Friday night and at Dodge County last night.  Though the Lady Royals won Friday, they lost at Dodge County and also saw starting guard Jayla Willis go out with a knee injury.

BCHS basketball teams return to the court this weekend.

Though school in Cochran doesn't resume until January 7, BCHS basketball resumes with games this Friday and Saturday.  On January 4, the Lady Royals and Royals will wrap up their season series with Montgomery County, traveling to Mount Vernon.  Bleckley and Dodge will resume their longtime rivalry on January 5 in Eastman.  Tip times for both is 6 pm.

Basketball teams swept at Washington County.

BCHS was swept at Washington County for the third straight year Tuesday night with the girls losing 56-35, the boys 57-52. Bleckley hosts East Laurens December 14 at 6 pm.

The Lady Royals softball team held their postseason awards banquet Tuesday night at First Baptist Church. Presentations included those making all-region and all-state teams. 3-AA All Region Team selections: Second team- Macey Haley, E’Lisia Vickers. First team- Landa Dominy, Riley Edge, Bailey Odom. Caroline Thrower. 3-AA Co-player of the Year: Abbey Sims. AA All State Honorable Mentions: Abbey Sims, Landa Dominy.
