BCHS struggles following football off week.

The Royals had a rough return to football following their off week against Marion County.  Five missed points from special teams (two point after touchdowns and a 35-yard field goal), a pair of costly turnovers and giving up over 500 yards of offense led to a 41-39 loss to Marion County.  To read more, click here.

Bleckley middle, high school cheerleaders, beginning competition season Saturday.

Both the BCMS and BCHS cheerleaders will begin their 2018 competition seasons at the Middle Georgia Cheer Classic hosted by Houston County High School September 15.  The middle school session starts at 9 am with BCMS performing at 10:07 am.  BCHS in the second high school session starting at 2:45 pm, they take the floor at 3:25.  Note, all times are approximate.

After scoring just two runs on three hits in game one against Wilcox County, the Lady Royals took advantage of nine walks in game two en route to an 11-2 victory.  To read more, click here.

Bleckley County High School senior catcher Abbey Sims announced she had commited to Emmanuel College Saturday afternoon via Twitter.  The announcement came following a day where she hit a three-run home run in a game against Metter played at the Jeff Davis Midseason Classic.

BCHS easily takes season series from Northeast.
Nine of the first 11 Lady Royals reached via walks in a 13-run first inning in Thursday afternoon’s game against Northeast.  Five in the second capped BCHS's 18-0 win.  Riley Edge just missed a no-hitter on a ball that was called fair. Miranda Pearson was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Caroline Thrower went 1 for 2 with 2 RBI. Bleckley plays tomorrow at the Jeff Davis Midseason Classic. Games are at 10 am against Bacon County and 11:45 against Metter at the Jeff Davis County Recreation Department.
