BCHS boys advance in region tournament, girls season ends.

The fifth seeded Lady Royals fell to fourth seed East Laurens 49-44 Tuesday afternoon in a region tournament quarterfinal played at Northeast. The fourth seeded Royals clinched a semifinal berth by beating fifth seed Southwest 67-44. They will take on top seed Dublin at Southwest February 7 at 8:30 pm.

Girls soccer wins, boys tie Central.

Jayda Danner had four goals and Anna Brown had a hat trick as the Lady Royals beat Central Monday night 10-0. Jordyn Krieg had two goals and Molly Williams added another. Treg Corner had the lone Royals goal as the boys tied 1-1. BCHS hosts West Laurens February 7. Girls play at 5 pm, boys to follow.

Fourth BCHS athlete to sign letter of intent Wednesday, corrected start time for ceremony.

Arkenzio Hayes will join Bryce Bailey, Marcus Brown, and Willie Chambers in signing their national letters of intent in Wednesday's athletic signing ceremony. Hayes will be signing with Columbus State University for football and track. Note, the corrected start time is 3:15 pm.

BCHS split their final home games Friday night against Southwest with the girls losing and boys winning.  Both teams won their regular season finale played Saturday night at Dodge County.

BCHS athletes to sign collegiate letters of intent February 5.

Bleckley County High School will hold an athletic signing ceremony as part of National Signing Day February 5 at 11:30 am in the auditorium. Currently scheduled to participate is: Bryce Bailey, signing as a wider receiver for Middle Tennessee State, Marcus Brown, signing as a wide receiver for the University of West Georgia, and Willie Chambers, who will be signing as a linebacker to play with Reinhart University.

Basketball teams swept at Veterans.

BCHS was swept in their season series against Veterans High School, losing both games played in Kathleen Tuesday night. The lady Royals lost 51-46, the Royals 57-31. It will be Senior Night when BCHS hosts Southwest January 31. Varsity tip time is 6 pm.

Boys cruise in split at Perry.

Down two starters, the Lady Royals offense sputtered Saturday afternoon at Perry. The Royals had three players in double figures in winning 66-51.  Click here for more.
