BCHS girls cross country makes history, again.

For the first time in school history, Bleckley County has a four-time state champion.  Girls cross country won their fourth consecutive state title Saturday in Carrollton.  Tristen Crosby was second, Austin Perez finished third.  The boys finished third at state with Garrett Rogers finishing second, Luke Churchwell third.

Busy, good regular season finale for Royals.

It was a busy Friday night at Shelly Hayes field as over 40 seniors (football players, cheerleaders, band mebers) were recognized before the regualr season home finale versus Dodge County.  Thanks to the Royals 41-34 win, it was a good night for those wearing purple and gold.

BCHS cross coutnry teams run their way to region titles.

(Photos courtesy BleckleyProgress.com contributor.) BCHS cross country continued their region dominance by winning the 3-AA title Thursday morning at Washington County. Tristan Crosby was girls individual region champ. Austin Perez finished second, Emily Youngblood third, and Brianna Gibberson fifth. Garrett Rogers was boys region champion. Luke Churchwell was second, KSon Jones third, Will Smith fifth. The state cross country championship will be November 2 in Carrollton at 11 am.

Cheerleaders have their best day yet.

Not only did the BCHS competition cheerleaders finish first at the East Laurens Falcon Frenzy, they had their cleanest performance of the season and improved their score by five points.  Click here for more.

Royals run past East Laurens.

BCHS jumped out to a 52-0 lead Friday night at East Laurens. As a result, reserves played the second half in their 59-7 win. Dominic Sasser went 12 of 20 for 193 yards and five touchdowns. Marcus Brown caught four passes for 118 yards and two scores. Javon Butler had 51 yards on 10 carries and caught two passes for 54 yards. Willie Chambers had three solo tackles, Quintavis "Scooter" Slappy two. The Royals are currently second in 3-AA. They'll seek to secure that spot as well as move toward getting to host a playoff game in two weeks against Dodge County in Cochran. Senior night ceremonies will be at 7 pm, kickoff at 7:30.

Season ends for Lady Royals.

BCHS saw their season end in round two of the state softball playoffs, losing to Heard County Wednesday.  Scores were 9-0, 18-5.

Big plays, big stops lift Royals over Washington County.

Bryce Bailey had a three touchdown night, including two runs totaling 129 yards. That, and some key fourth down stops by the defense helped BCHS edge the Golden Hawks 21-18.  Click here for more.
