BCHS uses big second half to beat Washington County.

Bleckley trailed 7-6 at halftime of Friday night's football game versus Washington County.  Head coach Von Lassiter would say later they challenged the team at halftime because they knew they were capable of playing better.  The players accepted the challenge, scoring 36 second half points to beat the Golden Hawks 42-21.

BCHS to open softball playoffs against Jefferson County.

Second seed Bleckley will open the state softball playoffs against 4-AA third seed Jefferson County October 11 in Cochran.  Game times are 3 and 5 pm.  The *if* game is scheduled for Thursday at 5:30 pm.

Though the Lady Royals were able to hold off East Laurens 5-2 and advance to the 3-AA title game Wednesday evening at Southern Pines, they lost the title game to Dodge County 12-0.  Read more here.  Bleckley will open the AA state playoffs at home October 11.  Details are TBD.

Wild day at 3-AA softball tournament.

It was a day of both highs and lows for BCHS at Southern Pines Tuesday.  Down 10-3 in the sixth inning against East Laurens, they scored ten times to win 13-10.  But against top seed Dodge County, the Lady Royals stranded nine runners in losing 7-0.

BCHS cheerleaders pulling out of Saturday competition due to injury.

The Bleckey County High School cheerleaders will not compete at Johns Creek as orignally scheduled October 7 due to injury.  They'll return to the mat October 14 at the Sweet Onion Cheer Classic hosted by Vidalia High School.

Though down a person due to injury, BCHS won their second straight cheerleading competition, placing first at Quest for the Best hosted by Ola High School.  Read more here.  BCHS is scheduled to compete at Johns Creek October 7.

Mistakes cost BCHS football against Dublin.

Bleckley trailed Dublin 19-0 in the first half of their football game Friday night.  The Irish scored 13 points off an interception and a dropped punt.  Trailing 19-6 in the fourth quarter with under six minutes left, a drive that gotten inside Irish territory ended with an interception at the 33 as Bleckley lost 19-6.
