Second Suspect Still At Large in Two Eastman Homicides | News
Officials are still looking for a second suspect in two Eastman homicides.
On May 12th, 50-year-old Greg Giddens was found dead in his Eastman home after an alleged robbery.
Then last Friday, 62-year-old Jimmy Gay was found dead near dumpsters off Harry Hargrove Road after another alleged robbery.
Two men, Jeffrey Madison and Nathaniel Cummings, were charged in the killings.
Madison was arrested in Bibb County and taken in custody in Dodge County, while Cummings is still at large.
Sheriff Lynn Sheffield says he believes the killings were not related, just random acts of violence. "They were just haphazard," Sheffield said. "The opportunity was there and they took it.
The killings have shocked some in Eastman, which they described as a close-knit, small-town community.
"We'll bounce back and be the good people that we are, and hope to see justice done," says Willie Hargrove of Eastman.
If you have any information on the case, or Nathaniel Cummings' whereabouts, you can contact the GBI's Eastman at (478) 374-6988.
