GDOT suspending interstate-related lane closures for Fourth of July weekend.
News, Transportation

The Georgia Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that construction-related lane closures on interstates would be suspended from noon on June 30 through 5 am on July 5. Lane closures will also be limited on state routes that serve major tourist and recreation centers. The moves come after AAA's Independence Day Travel Forecast predicted 85 percent of Americans, 37.5 million people, would be driving to get to their destination this Fourth of July. For those traveling, you can get real-time information on interstates and state routes by dialing 511.
