Upcoming city council meeting closed to public, BOE meeting to practice social distancing.
News, People

Both Cochran City Council and the Bleckley County Board of Education will be meeting on June 9 at 7 pm. In attempting to find out how Brian Kemp’s executive order issued on May 28 allowing gatherings of more than 25 people as long as six feet of social distancing can be maintained, emails were sent to both mayor Billy Yeomans and superintendent Dr. Steve Smith. Though attempts to reach Mayor Yeomans were unsuccessful, a member of city council who contacted city manager Richard Newbern stated the June 9 meeting would again be limited to ten people attending with an option to watch/listen via GoToMeeting. Smith stated they would be practicing social distancing and the size of the board meeting room would somewhat limit attendance.
