Y96 Raises Money in Radiothon for Children's Miracle Network

You still have time to help out the folks at Y96 Radio as they raise money for the Children's Hospital of Central Georgia.

This is the second day for the Y96 Radiothon which finishes up Wednesday afternoon. Last year the station raised $29,000 for Children's Miracle Network.

Disc jockey Lee Fountain says the cause is close to her heart.

"Sometimes, it can get really hard on you to talk about the stories that are going on, but you have to remind yourself it's really hard on the parents upstairs, too, that have to stay in this hospital and that are treated everyday and the nurses and staff. It's a child-friendly environment," Fountain explained.

Fountain will join our 13WMAZ broadcast team this year for the Children's Miracle Network Celebration. We will be bringing you that show the first weekend in June. The Children's Hospital treats 45,000 patients a year, and this season's goal is to raise enough money to build a chapel inside the hospital.
