Most of the city of Hawkinsville is without power because of Thursday afternoon's storms.

Kylie Jacobs with Middle Georgia Electric Membership Corporation says close to 1,000 people in Pulaski County are in the dark as of 4:30 pm.

Crews are currently working to get the power back on.

Middle Georgia EMC mainly serves communities in Pulaski, Dooly, and Wilcox counties.  They also have customers in Houston, Ben Hill, and Turner counties.
