Pruett Named to Workers' Compensation Advisory Council, Legislative Committee | News
ATLANTA, GA – State Representative Jimmy Pruett, R-Eastman, candidate for office of state representative for district 149 for the new term, was named to the 2012-2013 State Board of Workers' Compensation Advisory Council, to the Legislative Committee.
According to Judge Richard S. Thompson, Rep. Pruett was invited to join the council and committee because of his “continued commitment to the workers' compensation system.”
Rep. Pruett said of his appointment, “It is a great honor to be a part of such an organization which is a guiding force in providing the citizens of our state the best possible options with employment compensation, while at the same time protecting employers.”
The Advisory is composed of approximately 100 members from various occupational backgrounds. The purpose of the council, through each committee, is to meet, discuss and offer suggestions on way to improve the system.
Judge Thompson said of Pruett, “I look forward to his participation and new ideas as we work together for a better workers' compensation system in the upcoming year.”
Rep. Pruett currently represents House District 144, which includes the counties of Dodge, Bleckley,and Wilcox as well as portions of Ben Hill and Pulaski counties.
