State Rep. Pruett Thanks Bleckley County

Rep. Jimmy Pruett expresses appreciation to Bleckley County voters

As Nov. 6 draws closer, and  Bleckley voters are hurrying to cast their ballots early for the office of Georgia House of Representatives District 144, State Representative Jimmy Pruett, R-Eastman, is saying goodbye to the county in which he has served for the past six years.

As part of the new alignment of districts in the Georgia Assembly, Pruett will no longer be representing District 144, but beginning January 2013, he will be representing District 149 which will include Telfair, Dodge, Wheeler and parts of Jeff Davis and Laurens counties.

Though anticipating a positive change with the new districting, Pruett was a bit saddened about leaving Bleckley County. “Bleckley County voters have always been good to me.”

Pruett said that he believes Bleckley County will do well with State Rep. Bubber Epps, who is currently running opposed as a candidate for the GA House of Representatives District 144.

“I have worked with him for the past several years, and I believe he will do a fine job as your representative.” Pruett said, adding, “He and his wife are both good people, made of strong character with good morals and ethics.”

He continued, “I just want to let the voters in Bleckley County know how much I do appreciate them, and even though I will not be their official representative, I do feel as if I represent the whole state of Georgia. They are welcome to call on me anytime.” Rep. Pruett has an official Facebook page at http://facebook.com/repjimmypruett.
