Update on BCHS baseball.

Though Bleckley lost last Friday's home game to Washington County, they still clinched the the 3-AA title.  To find out how, click here.  The Royals lost 8-3 to Fitzgerald Monday and will close out the regular season April 18 at Emanuel County Institute.

Red Cross Blood Drive April 22.

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive in the main bulding of the Bleckley County Extension Office, 165 E. Peacok St. April 22 from 2 to 7 pm.  Appointments can be made online by going to redcrossblood.org and using the sponsor code "Cochran."  Streamline your donation experience by going to redcrossblood.org/rapidpass to complete your pre-donation reading and health history questions the day of your appointment.

Local travel team gets first trophy of season.

Surge is a 10u Bleckley-based travel softball team in their first season.  After playing in places such as Waycross, Dublin, and Cordele, the team got to be at home Saturday for the Cochran-Bleckley Invitational played at the rec. department.  They went 1-1-1 in pool play, including Rayea Dominy throwing a no-hitter.  Though falling in the championship game to the Knockouts 16-1, Surge picked up their first trophy.

Bake sale will benefit Royal Singers trip to music competition.

The BCHS Royal Singers will hold a bake sale in the Pre-K parking lot, 242 East Dykes Street, on April 20 from 9 am to 2 pm. Proceeds will benefit their May trip to the OrlandoFest music competition.

In a matchup of former region rivals, Bleckley baseball jumped out to a big early lead then staved off a late comeback attempt by the Bulldogs to win 5-2.  To read more, click here.

BCHS tennis to open tennis playoffs at home next week.

Bleckley County High School swept Wednesday's 3-AA tennis tournament played at Dublin High School with both teams beating Dodge County in the championship matches.  Teams will open the state playoffs next week.  The boys host Vidalia April 15 at 3:30 pm, the girls open against Swainsboro that Tuesday at 1:30 pm.
