Cochran Police provide special sendoff for pageant queens headed to state.

Bleckley County will be well-represented at this weekend's Miss Georgia Forestry State Pageant in Tifton with three queens competing for state.  Teeny Miss Bleckley County Forestry Dollie Rose Greene, Tiny Miss Bleckley County Forestry Avery Beth Mullis, and Little Miss Bleckley County Forestry Colleen Tyner.  Thursday moning Chief of Police Chris Coley and Officer Brittany Slaw escorted a convoy carrying the three queens from Bleckley Pre-K to La Cabana.

Bleckley School Nutrition offering free meals to children.

Bleckley School Nutrition, in conjunction with the USDA, is offering free meals to children throgh the "Summer Food Service Program," to children ages 18 and younger.  Click here to view a list of times and locations.

BCHS baseball players receive all state honors.

The Georgia Dugout Club recently announced selections for the AA All State Team. Lane Kitchens was a fist team selection. Brody Little and Carson Waters both made second team. Jack Fernandez and Tripp Purser were honorable mentions.

One of the parts of Vacation Bible School is learning songs for parent's night.  Ruth Baptist Church is doing The Incredible Race as their theme.  Kids would head inside the sanctuary to practice songs with the assistance of a video playing overhead.  Ruth's final night will be June 6.

Journey to the Jungle of Nool with Bleckley Summer Theatre Camp.

Bleckley Summer Theatre Camp will perform Seussical, Jr, June 7-9 at House of Grace Church, 133 Jac Arts Road in Cochran.  Showtimes are 7 pm Friday, 12:30 and 7 pm Saturday, 2 pm Sunday.  Admission is $5 adults, $3 students.

26th Annual Bleckley NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet March 23.

The Bleckley NAACP will hold their 26th annual Freedom Fund Banquet March 23 at 6 pm inside the Presidential Dining Room at Middle Georgia State University. Guest speaker will be Tim Chatman, Dublin Chief of Police and pastor of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Ailey.
