BCHS grits out win at Dodge County.

Despite only four hits, none of them coming with runners in scoring position, the Royals swept the season series against Dodge County winning 2-1 in Eastman Friday afternoon.  To read more, click here.

BCHS hits first homers of season in rout of Howard.

Brody Little and Steven Knighton hit the first home runs of the season for the Royals as they beat Howard High School 13-2 in a game played at Mary Persons High School Thursday afternoon. Little was 3 for 3, Knighton 2 for 3, both with 4 RBI. Lane Kitchens went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI. Jack Fernandez went 1 for 2. Bleckley plays at Dodge County this afternoon at 5 pm.

Story Time at the Library March 20.

Story Time at the Tessie W. Norris/Cochran-Bleckley Library will be March 20 at 10 am.  Presented by the Bleckley County Retired Educators, reader will be Laura Bowen.

Major personnel moves at Tuesday night's BOE meeting.

The resignation of  assistant superintendent and curriculum director Dr. Andrea Williams, "with regret due to retirement," was approved at Tuesday night's monthly Bleckley Board of Education meeting. As a result, a new director of curriculum as well as assistant superintendent were promoted from other administrative positions. Click here for more.

Donations of candy, plastic eggs, sought for Bleckley Elementary "dozen day."

Bleckley Elementary is seeking donations of plastic eggs and individually wrapped candy for their annual "dozen day" March 29, an event designed to ensure all school children get to enjoy Easter egg hunts. Items can be left in the main office of BCES. Please have all donations in by March 27.

Royals stay perfect in region with baseball win versus Dodge County.

BCHS moved to 3-0 in region play with a 10-5 home win against Dodge County Tuesday night.  Lane Kitchens was 3 for 3.  Andrew Thompson went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI.  Bleckley takes on Howard High School at Mary Persons tomorrow.  Game time is 4:30 pm.

Conference will discuss aspects of church growth.

Salem Baptist Church will host the "Go" conference March 22-24. Classes will be on March 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and that Saturday from 9 am to noon. Bart Ponders of 21 Dive Ministries will lead a discussion on aspects of church growth including what it looks like physically when a church is growing, what emotions are felt during both spiritual growth and when one is spiritually dead, as well as things that could prevent church growth and prevent usage of gifts from God. Ponder will preach the March 24 11 am and 6 pm services on going into the world with the gospel. The conference is free and open to all. Salem Baptist is located at 107 Salem Church Road in Cochran.
