Bleckley Summer Theatre Camp to perform Annie.

Bleckley Summer Theatre Camp will perform Annie, jr.   Camp dates are July 6-13, performances will be July 13-15 (7 pm Friday and Saturday, 2 pm matinee Saturday, 3 pm Sunday.)  Open to ages 4-13.   Camp and performances will be held at House of Grace, 133 Jac Arts Road. Cochran City Council, Bleckley BOE, to discuss budgets at upcoming meetings.

The Cochran City Council will hold a public forum on the 2018-19 budget as part of their monthly meeting June 12 at 7 pm. Meetings are held at the Community House, 192 South Third Street. According to a post on the city website, consideration of the budget will follow the hearing. The Bleckley Board of Education will vote on a final FY19 budget at the June 19 meeting starting at 7 pm. Meetings are held at the Board Office, 242 North Dykes Street in the meeting room. Prior to voting, the meeting will be open to public comment on the budget.

Blake named SSAC Board of Presidents Chair.

Middle Georgia State University President Dr. Christopher Blake has been named chair of the Board of Presidents for the Southern States Athletic Conference. He is the successor of William Carey University President Dr. Tommy King following his two-year term. The SSAC is one of 21 conferences of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Middle Georgia State joined the SSAC soon after becoming a member of the NAIA in 2014.


Cochran Blood Drive June 11.

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive June 11 from 2-7 pm in the county extension office main building, 165 East Peacock Street.  Those who donate will receive a free T-Shirt (while supplies last.)  Schedule your appointment online by going to redcrossblood.org and use sponsor code "Cochran" or by calling 1-800-Red-Cross (1-800-733-2767.)

Bleckley All Star team finishes second at Perry tournament.

Bleckley All Star team finishes second at Perry tournament.

The 8u baseball team finished second at a tournament played at Perry Junior League Saturday.  Bleckley will open district there June 8 at 8 pm.

Future Royal Football Camp cancelled.

The Future Royal Footblall Camp scheduled for June 5-7 has been cancelled.  Registration for the Future Lady Royals Softball Camp June 25-27 from 9 am-noon at the high school softball field is still ongoing.  Cost is $35 for ages 7-14.  Call the rec. department, (478)934-3225, for more information.
