The building at 242 East Dykes Street has served as an educational home to students for 64 years. It'll be demolished to make way for the new primary school. Mobile COVID-19 testing unit at Bleckley Health Department.

South Central Health District will have a mobile COVID-19 testing unit at the Bleckley County Health Department, 152 Eighth Street NW, June 19 from 9 am to 1 pm and on June 26 from 1-4 pm. Seniors get a moment to shine downtown.

Though school is out, a group of senior parents have been holding activities as part of a "senior week" for the Class of 2020. Thursday night, seniors paraded through downtown Cochran as a good crowd was on hand to congratulate them on making it through what was a trying year. Click here to view photos.

It was another busy Board of Education meeting Tuesday night as a final budget was passed and numerous items discussed including how to increase opportunities for minorities in hiring and promotions.  Click here for more.

Boston Butt sale will benefit Mt. Calvary WOM mission projects.

Mt. Calvary Baptist Church's Women on Mission is holding a Boston Butt sale. Cost is $35 for a fully-cooked 10-12 pound Boston Butt. Pickup will be June 28 either at Mt. Middle school competition cheer squad tryouts June 16.
