Hawkinsville Teen Maze Teaches Consequences

Middle and high School students in Pulaski County got a crash course through a maze of life's tough decisions.

Kids drew a card out of a bag at each station in the maze. The slip took them down a different path of life with new consequences.

Some students, like eighth grader Alena Smith, experienced the weight of teen pregnancy and never made it to the finish line, graduation.

Other kids landed behind bars, some learned the truth about sexually transmitted diseases, and a few had to stare death in the face at a mock funeral.

Smith says, "I've learned that choices really do make a difference, and I have the power to control my life. It's not just what peer pressure says."
