Christine B. Bumpus

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Bryant Bumpus, 88, of Cochran who died Saturday, October 29, 2011 in Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 31, 2011 in Cochran First United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Carnley officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.

 

            Mrs. Bumpus was born in Bibb County, the daughter of the late Allen W. Bryant and Mary Frances Sapp Bryant. She was the widow of Henry W. Bumpus. She was retired from Robins A.F.B. and a member of Cochran First United Methodist Church.

 

            Survivors include a sister, Jayenelle B. Smith of Cochran; special friend, Emma Moffitt of Dublin; several nieces & nephews.

 

J.M. Yearty

 

            Funeral services for Mr. J.M. Yearty, 89, of Cochran who died Saturday, October 29, 2011 in Bryant Nursing Center will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

 

            Mr. Yearty was a lifelong resident of Bleckley County, the son of the late Cleo and Mellie Davis Yearty. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during W.W. II and retired from Cochran Truck & Tractor. He was a member of Roddy Baptist Church.

 

            Survivors include two sons, Joe (Sonny) and Jane Yearty of Macon and Danny Ray Yearty of Cochran; two grandsons, Joe Yearty and Jeff (Carolyn) Yearty, both of Cochran; sister, Joyce (Ronald) Rogers of Haddock; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Betty B. Tomberlin

 

MRS. BETTY BARRENTINE DYE TOMBERLIN, Age 79, of Rhine, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at her residence.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00PM Saturday, October 22, in Hopewell Baptist Church, with Mr. Bobby Joe Ryals officiating with interment in Hopewell Cemetery.

Mrs. Tomberlin was a member and former music minister of Hopewell Baptist Church, a pianist for Church services for over 60 years, a retired civil service employee of Warner Robins AFB, former Owner / Operator of Rhine Mall and Rhine Florist, President of Tomberlin Trucking Company, Inc. and daughter of the late Lola Patterson Barrentine & Newton Andrew Barrentine.  She was preceded in death by a Daughter – Barbara Ann Rogers, Son – Charlie Dye, Step-Son – Marty Tomberlin; 2 Grandchildren – Robert Bowen & Lindsey Tomberlin, Sister – Jeanette Nolan and 3 Brothers – Hugh Barrentine, James Barrentine & Harold Barrentine.

Funeral services For Mr. Jim F. Sanders, 98, of Cochran who died Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in the Carl Vinson V.A. Medical Center in Dublin will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home with Elder Franklin Bryant and Rev. Ken Rodgers officiating. Burial will be in Dublin Memorial Gardens.

 

            Mr. Sanders was born in Bleckley County, the son of the late Robert L. Sanders and Cornella Rasberry Sanders. He was the widower of Drue Parham Sanders. He was a former employee of Georgia Department of Transportation and a farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during W.W. II. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Sanders and a daughter, Cletta Marie Holmes.
