Betty Jean Pitts Sanders

 

MRS. BETTY JEAN PITTS SANDERS, age 77, of Chauncey, GA, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at The Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Thursday, December 6, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Royce Vaughn officiating, with interment in New Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Sanders was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Chauncey Baptist Church, a homemaker, daughter of the late Velma Jackson Pitts & Oris M. Pitts and widow of Jack Wilson Sanders, Sr.  She was preceded in death by a Daughter – Lynn S. Dowdy, Son – Mike W. Sanders and Sister – Annette P. Couey.

Survivors:  Daughter – Rhonda S. Mosley of Milan;  Son -  Jack W.

Alecia Carol Jones Mullis

 

Mrs. Alecia Carol Jones Mullis of Cochran who professed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ went to heaven on December 3, 2012.

Alecia was a 1975 graduate of Hawkinsville High School. She had been previously employed at Leshner Textile Mills, formerly Opelika and Best Buy Warehouse and was presently employed at the Pulaski County Correctional Institution.

Survivors include her husband, Merrill Mullis of Cochran; parents, Robert (Bobby) and Josie K. Jones of Hawkinsville; brother, Robert Lee Jones, Jr. of Hawkinsville; sisters, Barbara (Ed) Rodgers of Ft. Valley, Helen (Eddie) Little of Rhine and Patricia (Clint) Brown of Hawkinsville.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home.

Instead of flowers, it is asked that donations be made in her name to a cancer society or animal shelter.

Mildred Harrell Brantley

 

MRS. MILDRED HARRELL BRANTLEY, age 88, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, December 3, 2012 at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, December 6, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Jack Sheffield, Rev. Myron Parkerson and Rev. Bob Boutwell officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Brantley was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.  She was daughter of the late Jewel Mullis Harrell & George Edward Harrell and widow of Busy B. Brantley.  She was preceded in death by a Son – Timothy “Tim” Brantley and 3 Brothers – Edward Harrell, Wendell Harrell and Lesine Harrell.

Donnie Wimberly Cadwell

 

MRS. DONNIE WIMBERLY CADWELL, age 84, of Chauncey, GA, died Monday, December 3, 2012, at Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, December 5,

at Antioch #2 Baptist Church, Milan, with interment in Antioch #2 Cemetery.

Mrs. Cadwell was a member of Antioch #2 Baptist Church, a former teller for Citizens Bank & Trust, a former County Commissioners secretary and a homemaker.  She was daughter of the late Sallie Reese Wimberly & Oscar Richard Wimberly and widow of Seaborn C. “S. C.” Cadwell.  She was preceded in death by a Daughter – Charlotte C. Williams, Sister – Christine W. Burdette and Brother – N. A. Wimberly.

Survivors:  2 Daughters – Carliss C. Dollar (Van) of Dublin and Wanda C. Rogers (Gene) of Chauncey;  Son-in-Law – Charles M. Williams of Chauncey;

John Thornton O'Barr Jr.

 

MR. JOHN THORNTON O’BARR, Jr., age 84, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, December 3, 2012, at Dodge County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, December 5, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Mr. Bobby Ryals officiating, with interment in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

 Mr. O’Barr was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, a veteran of the U. S. Army, a retired heavy equipment operator for Thompson Hardwood, Hazlehurst, GA and an avid fisherman.  He was son of the late Sara Harrell O’Barr & John T. O’Barr, Sr. and widower of Sadie Selph O’Barr.  He was preceded in death by a Brother – Bill O’Barr.

Benjamin Bobby Horne

 

MR. BENJAMIN A. “BOBBY” HORNE, age 72, of Eastman, GA, died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, December 2, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ronnie Jones and Rev. Jack Sheffield officiating, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Horne was a member of Central Baptist Church, a veteran of the

U. S. Army, a retired employee of Blue Bird Body Company and son of the late Annie Mae Dunn Horne-Woodard & Robert Greenberry Horne.  He was preceded in death by a Wife - Arlene Smith Horne, 5 Sisters – Eva Clyde Woodard, Wynelle Justice, Myranelle Fountain, Ann Sanders & Ruby Wright and 3 Brothers – Johnny Woodard, William Woodard and Robert Horne.

Shirley Marie Cravey Mullis

 

MRS. SHIRLEY MARIE CRAVEY MULLIS, age 66, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Eastman Healthcare & Rehab.

 

            A memorial service will be held at a later date.

 

            Mrs. Mullis was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Grace Baptist Church, a homemaker, daughter of the late Sarah Brown Cravey & Joseph Benjamin Cravey and widow of Russell Mullis.  She was preceded in death by a Sister – Joann Cravey and Brother – Earl Quinton Cravey.
