Shirley Marie Cravey Mullis

 

MRS. SHIRLEY MARIE CRAVEY MULLIS, age 66, of Eastman, GA, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Eastman Healthcare & Rehab.

 

            A memorial service will be held at a later date.

 

            Mrs. Mullis was a lifelong resident of Dodge County, a member of Grace Baptist Church, a homemaker, daughter of the late Sarah Brown Cravey & Joseph Benjamin Cravey and widow of Russell Mullis.  She was preceded in death by a Sister – Joann Cravey and Brother – Earl Quinton Cravey.

 

Douglas Mack Hendrix, Sr.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Douglas (Mack) Hendrix, Sr., 70, of Cochran who died at his residence on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Lane Collins and Rev. Bob Price officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Hendrix was born in Carrollton, Georgia, the son of the late Curtis and Magnolia Spradlin Hendrix. He had lived in Cary for the past 5 years. He served his country for 23 years in the U.S. Marines with two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Joyce Bowen Jones

 

MRS. JOYCE BOWEN JONES, age 81, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012,

at her residence in Milan, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, November 23, at

Antioch #2 Baptist Church, with Rev. Jack Lee officiating.  Interment will follow in the Antioch #2 Cemetery.

Mrs. Jones was born in Rhine,   daughter of the late Rosa Kate & Tom Pete Bowen.  She was preceded in death by her Husband - John Robert Charlton Jones, Jr., Sister – Barbara Faye Brown, Brother – Harry “Bubba” Bowen and Son-in-Law – Warren E. Southerland, Jr.  She was a member of Antioch #2 Baptist Church of Milan and served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years.  

Elaine Laney Bryan Burnham

 

ELAINE “LANEY” BRYAN BURNHAM, age 61, of Eastman, GA, died Monday, November 19, 2012 at Dodge County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, November 21, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Gary Ryals and Rev. Randy Conley officiating, with interment in Vilula Church Cemetery.

Ms. Burnham was a member of Rhine Methodist Church, a retired Paraprofessional for the Dodge County School System, a former secretary for OEMC and daughter of the late Jewell Stowe Bryan & Augustus B. Bryan.  She was preceded in death by a Former Husband – Edwin Burnham, Infant Daughter – Lindsey Selene Burnham, Step-Daughter – Tawana Burnham, 2 Sisters – Shirley Hicks & Betty Black and a Brother – Bobby Wood.

Jimmy Amerson

 

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Amerson, 88, of Cochran who died Saturday, November 10, 2012 in Heart of Georgia Nursing Home in Eastman will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 12, 2012 in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.

 Mr. Amerson was born in Twiggs County, the son of the late John Andrew Amerson and Lula Kitchens Amerson. He was the widow of Ophelia Daniel Amerson. He was a retired farmer and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.

Survivors include a daughter, Gail (Jerry) McNair of Cochran; son, James T. Amerson, Jr. of Cochran; 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Fisher Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. 

Billy Stephens

 

Funeral services for Thomas W. “Billy” Stephens, 54, of Statesboro who died Saturday, November 10, 2012 will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home in Cochran.

Billy was born in Pulaski County, the son of the late Louis W. (Bunky) and Clarice Harbin Stephens. He was a graduate of Cochran High School Class of 1976 and a graduate of Middle Georgia College Class of 1978. He received his nursing degree from Coastal Community College in Brunswick. He was a paramedic with many ambulance services throughout Georgia and was presently a nurse with critical care and emergency room at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah.

Survivors include his wife, Michele B. Stephens of Statesboro; daughter, Kara Rena Stephens of Statesboro; two sisters, Lynn (Scott) Keller of Rochester, MN and Gayle (Raymond) Sapp of Danville; brother, Chris Stephens of Cochran.

Mrs. Johnnie Nobles Moore

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Johnnie Nobles Moore, 92 of Cochran, who died Tuesday November 6, 2012 in Dublin, will be held Thursday November 8, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home.  Burial will be Friday at 11:00 A.M. at El Sharath Church Cemetery. 

Mrs. Moore was born in Pulaski County the daughter of the late John Washington Nobles and Ida Mae Adkins Nobles. She was the widow of William Clyde Moore.  She was retired from Robins Air Force Base, a member of the El Sharath Baptist Church for the past 56 years, a former member of the Twiggs County Board of Education.  She was a member of the Dublin Eastern Star # 175 and also served as Past Worthy Matron of the Danville and Cochran Chapters as well as a past District Deputy.  Preceded in death by a son Wilbur Clyde Moore and a granddaughter Melody Louise Moore.
