Church moving service locations, another church opening campus in Cochran.

Cornerstone Church of Cochran will begin holding 10:45 am morning services inside the Bleckley County High School auditorium February 5.  According to a release from the church, work continues on their new location, 129 Beech St.  Call Dr. Stephen White, (478)697-4122 for more information, "like" Cornerstone Church of Cochran on Facebook, or visit their website.

Christ Chapel, a nondenominational church based out of Zebulon will be opening a campus in Cochran.  It will be located at 330 W. Dykes Street, the former Living Waters Fellowship building.  The campus will be staffed by pastors Richard and Faith Hulsey.  First service will be February 5 at 10:30 am.  The public is invited to come early for donuts, pastries, coffee, and orange juice.

Local law enforcement, EMT's/First Responders, as well as fire and rescue were the guests of Salem Baptist Church Saturday night for "Serving the Servants."  The church provided meals in their Fellowship Hall as well as delievered plates.  Pastor Tony Deloach said members were inspired to do this based upon a Bible study they're currently doing on Wednesday nights as well as things happening in the community and world. Between meals eaten there and plates delivered, they expected to serve about 200 people.

Cochran church opening food bank February 3.

Faith Temple Precious Faith Ministries will open their food bank for local residents February 3 from 4-5 pm. Donations accepted.  Call Sherri Ligon for more information, (478)298-2844.  The church is located at 383 GA 87 in Cochran.

Middle Georgia State's Kappa Sigma Fraternity now a chapter.

A colony of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity was formed on the Cochran campus of Middle Georgia State University 14 months ago.  Saturday night, the colony became a chapter.  Members from what's now the Upsilon-Zeta Chapter, school officials, as well as members from other areas, were in attednace for an installation banquet celebrating the event.

Bleckley resident makes South Georgia State College Academic Honors List.

Paula D. Bennett made the South Georgia State College Academic Honors list for the Fall 2016 Semester. A release states the list is for students who take 5 to 11 semester hours with a GPA of 3.5 or better.
