Cochran residents enjoy Blizzards for a good cause.

Cochran Dairy Queen participated in "Miracle Treat" Day held Thursday at locations nationwide.  The event raises money for the Children's Miracle Network.  One dollar from all Blizzards sold in Cochran will go to the Children's Hospital Navicent Health in Macon, the area Children's Miracle Network Hospital.

A fundraiser for the WIlene Foster Kidney Transplant Fund was held at Cochran First United Methodist Church Saturday.  Foster's daughter, Wimberly is a salesperson for Rodan+Fields Skin Care products.  She was up from Florida doing a demonstration.  Proceeds from the sale will go toward the fund.

Foster said she was doing well after having to spend time in the hospital recently.  She said there were a couple of potential donors lined up, she'd find out more during the week.  If you'd like info on the products, you can call her for more info, (478)697-4621.

Local 4-H members selected to be part of 4-H performing arts group.

Four Bleckley 4-H members were recently chosen to be part of Clovers & Co., Georgia 4-H's performing arts group.   To read more, click here.

Paint party will benefit local woman's Uganda mission trip.

Bleckley resident and House of Grace church member Scarlett Allen will be making her second mission trip to Uganda this August.  To raise money for the cost, she will be hosting a paint party at House of Grace, 133 Jac Arts Road, July 22 from 2-4 pm.  The party will be led by artist Katrina Howell.  Cost is $30 and it's for women and girls 13 and up.  Register in advance by going here.  Call (478)298-3588 for more information.

Cochran church invites community to new location.

Cornerstone Church of Cochran is pleased to announce they've moved into their new building, 129 E Beech St. They appreciate all who helped them make the move to their new home. While renovations are ongoing, the building is functional. You are invited to join them each Sunday at 10:45 am as they exalt God, edify His people, and evangelize the world. 

Local soccer player raising funds to be part of pro European tour.

Thomas Lopez is a Cochran native and played soccer for both BCHS and Middle Georgia State University. Currently playing for a semipro team in Savannah, he's been presented with the opportunity to attend a Pro Soccer Consulting European tour starting in August. Lopez, who wants to play professional soccer, is doing a Go Fund Me to raise the $3,369 for room, board, and the cost of playing on the team. To donate or for more info, click here.

Gospel sing benefiting church children's ministry postponed.

Strong Tower Ministries of Cochran has postponed tomorrow night's benfeit gospel sing for the children's minnistry on the courthouse square due to the threat of rain.  They invite everyone to come to free bingo night that will be held at their church, 186 E Dykes St from 6-8 pm.
