In week two of the legislative session, the Senate did not convene, instead it was a week dedicated to budget hearings and getting out around the community. As always, I am dedicated to my responsibilities at the Capitol, but it’s the time I spend listening to my constituents that I enjoy the most.
Thursday, I was happy to welcome nurses from District 20 to celebrate “Nurses Day at the Capitol”. More than 1,000 nurses from across the state met and developed legislative ideas to make their jobs more effective and less restricted by government regulations. I had the pleasure of meeting with several nurses that expressed concerns, ideas and praises for the legislature. These men and women have dedicated their lives to taking care of others and I remain committed to protecting their rights to access the proper tools, incentives and technology to perform their job to its full potential.
