Krispy Kreme Celebrates 76 Years Saturday

(WXIA) -- In honor of its 76th birthday, Krispy Kreme is offering a second dozen glazed donuts for 76¢ to customers who purchase a dozen at regular price.

The offer is good on Saturday, July 13 at all Krispy Kreme locations in Georgia. No coupon is required.

Eastman Wendy's Restaurant Closes

It’s official- Wendy’s Restaurant in Eastman has closed it’s doors for business. Manager Billy Sharrard confirmed the closure in a telephone interview today.

The Eastman store is a franchise of Wendy’s and not owned by Wendy’s Corporation. The owner was faced with a demand by Corporate Wendy’s to do a major renovation to the building to keep the franchise. The owner decided to close, rather than make the investment.

Probably the most asked and most argued about question around my house is “What's for Supper?” It seems like every evening someone inevitably asks. Then it's “I don’t know, what do you want?” And it goes on and on.

Do you have this problem at your house? If so, maybe I can help you out this weekend. Try out the Smokestack & Gifts Restaurant in Eastman. This “back-yard style” restaurant is run by Jonathan Smith, who says that it is the only restaurant that has no kitchen- everything is cooked on the grill.

Tri-County Area Jobless Rates Above Georgia Average

Bleckley County's jobless rate was 15.1 percent in February compared to Pulaski County's 9.6 percent and Dodge's 11.1 percent. Georgia's was 8.6 percent and metro Macon's was nine percent.  

The Georgia Department of Labor says  February unemployment declined to nine percent in metro Macon.

According to a release, that's down from February 2012, when unemployment for metro Macon was 10 percent.

Georgia's February unemployment rate is 8.6 percent, not seasonally adjusted.

From January to February, metro Macon gained 500 jobs and fewer people were laid off.

Most jobs were added in the professional, business, education, health care, trade, transportation, warehousing, leisure and hospitality industries as well as in in local government.
