One Act Season Brings Both Change, Success

By Kayla Conley

After a third place win at region competition, One-Act members reflect back on their musical performance as this year was one of exciting change for the cast and crew.

For the first time in more than six years, the performance was a musical, and Dodge County’s One-Act hosted the region competition.

Performing “How to Make a Musical,” the cast placed third out of six other high school teams on Nov. 2, at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia, Ga.

The play was directed by Quint Bush, Trey Stephens and Brande Vaughn.

When Vaughn was asked what she likes most about participating with One-Act she replied, “I enjoy working with the kids and seeing how much they enjoy doing it.”

Cast member Jordie Davies said that the students enjoy the preparation and seeing the characters brought to life for their peers.
