Bleckley Pick Up Needed Baseball Win Versus Irish

Bleckley went into Tuesday's home game versus Dublin needing a win.  Not only to break a four-game losing streak but to also keep their hopes of hosting a home playoff game alive.  Tied at 1 in the fourth, Cody Jones untied the game with a solo home run.  Caleb Bryant (back in the lineup) followed with a solo shot.

It was the first back to back blasts for the Royals in two years.  Kyle Brown added to the lead with an RBI single in the fifth.  Bryant got his second home run of the game as part of a two-run sixth as the Royals won 6-2.

Bryant finished 2 for 3, Jones 1 for 2.  BCHS plays at East Laurens Friday.  JV play at 4 p.m. with varsity to follow.

BCHS Baseball Loses Fourth Straight Game

Bleckley went into Monday's game at Northside with two starters (catcher Caleb Bryand and third baseman Jordan Perdue) out of the lineup with injuries.

The Royals were able to keep it close for four innings.  They trailed just 5-2 going into the fifth.  However, a first and third, one out scoring opportunity ended with a double play.  In the home half, aided by five walks, Northside scored nine times.  A two-run home run to begin the frame and a game-clinching grand slam to end as BCHS lost 14-2.  Caleb Slaughter was 1 for 2 with a double.

BC is currently third in 3B-AA with three games left, all against sub-region opponents.  If they win all three and Dublin loses to Dodge County, the Royals will be second.

Bleckley hosts Dublin Tuesday.  JV play at 4 p.m. with varsity to follow.
