Bleckley BOE makes small adjustment to FY19 school calendar.

At Tuesday's monthly meeting, the Bleckley County Board of Education made a small adjustment to this year's school calendar, changing March 29 to a half day for students.  It will be the last day before spring break.

Bleckley PTO meeting February 19.

The Bleckley PTO will meet February 19 at 6 pm in the primary school art classroom/gym building located behind the school. Discussion will include the upcoming Father/Daughter dance as well as plans for a Mother/Son night event and Teacher Appreciation week. The meeting is open to all parents and guardians of children in grades Pre-K through fifth.

Middle Georgia State adding sport management to degree programs.

Students wishing to be involved in the business side of sports can get a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management starting Fall 2019.   To read more, click here.

Update on BCMS sports.

Regular season play for BCMS basketball wrapped up February 7 with a home sweep of Dublin.  The MGMSAA region tournament will be February 13 through 16 hosted by J.R. Trippe Middle School in Vidalia.  The boys are top seed and open play February 14 at 4 pm against #8 Jeff Davis.  The girls are third seed and take on sixth seed Dodge County February 13 at 5:15 pm.  Saturday's championship games will be played at Vidalia High School.


BCMS baseball has a scrimmage game Feruary 11 at home against Toombs County 4 pm.  Head coach is former BCHS and Middle Georgia State baseball player Dusty Jones.

Menus students will (hopefully) love.

February 14 is Valentine's Day, a time to celebrate love.  The Bleckley School Nutrition staff hopes students will love what's prepared that day, as well as the rest of the month.  Click here to view breakfast and lunch menus.
