Bleckley Pre-K holds GACHIP ID Event.

The Bleckley County Sheriff's Department and Cochran Masonic Lodge 217 F&AM recently sponsored a Georgia Child Identifcation Program (GACHIP) event for children at Bleckley Pre-K.  To read more, click here.

Bleckley BOE votes on construction delivery method for new primary school.

Construction Manager at Risk was voted by the Bleckley County Board of Education as the delivery method for the new primary school at Tuesday night's monthly meeting. They also approved the purchase of new technology that will allow students to take a 3-D look at items, filled a coaching vacancy, and more.   Click here to find out.

A day to cheer about in Houston County.

Both the BCMS and BCHS competition cheer squads had good debuts at the Middle Georgia Cheer Classic Saturday.  The middle school placed second despite losing eight girls to high school, plus a new head coach in former assistant Liz Brown.  Perry Middle School edged the Barons by one point.

 

BCHS had to bring in a new member Thursday due to numerous injury issues.  Despite that, they had a solid debut and won the AA division.  Both squads will be at the West Laurens Raider Rumble September 22.

Second annual Hometown Celebrities concert benefiting BCHS One Act September 15.

Bleckley County High School One Act will host the second annual "Hometown Celebrities" concert September 15 at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. It will highlight the talents of both current One Act students as well as graduates of BCHS. Admission is $5 adults, $3 students. Proceeds will benefit this year's one act play cast and their competition selection "All Shook Up."
