Local students graduate from Oconee Fall Line Technical College.

Cochran City Council, Bleckley BOE, to discuss budgets at upcoming meetings.

The Cochran City Council will hold a public forum on the 2018-19 budget as part of their monthly meeting June 12 at 7 pm. Meetings are held at the Community House, 192 South Third Street. According to a post on the city website, consideration of the budget will follow the hearing. The Bleckley Board of Education will vote on a final FY19 budget at the June 19 meeting starting at 7 pm. Meetings are held at the Board Office, 242 North Dykes Street in the meeting room. Prior to voting, the meeting will be open to public comment on the budget.

Middle Georgia State adds Bachelor's Degree, two minors.

Middle Georgia State University announced the addition of a Bachleor of Science in Political Science as well as minors in business and sociology.  To read more, click here.

New trophy case dedicated at BCHS.

Bleckley County High School has a new place to display its many achievements as well as those of Cochran High School. A trophy case dedication ceremony was held Sunday afternoon. Organized by former coach and administrator Ben Dykes, he collected $25,000 in donations for the $16,000 case. Dykes was also responsible for many of the plaques on display inside. Unbeknownst to him, a small plaque on the front of the case recognizes him as well as former coach Billy Padgett.

Boys basketball coach, other news, from Tuesday BOE meeting.

It was a busy Tuesday night for the Bleckley Board of Education at their monthly meeting.  Garrett Collins was promoted from middle school to high school boys head basketball coach.  A tentative budget was set.  To read more, click here.

BCHS Graduation May 26.

Bleckley County High Schoo will hold graduation ceremonies May 26 at 9 am inside Royal Stadium, 242 East Dykes Street.  Click here to view the list of candidates for graduation.

BCHS Royal Singers Spring, Senior, concerts May 19.

The BCHS Royal Singers will hold their spring and senior concerts May 19. The spring concert will be at 4:30 pm, the senior concert will take place following a brief intermission. Admission is $5 adults, $3 for children and students.
