BCHS HOSA officers teach children about bullying.

Last Thurdsday, Bleckley County High School HOSA officers Casey Garnto, Tyler Swords, Lauren Taylor, and Allison Graham visited the Summer Meal site at the old high school, current Pre K cafeteria.  They played "Bully Bingo," a game designed to help children recognize bullying.  To learn more about the USDA's Summer Meal Program, including other locations in Bleckley County, go here.

Time running out to register local children for Bleckley Pre K.

Bleckley Pre K announced Thursday that only a few slots remained for the upcoming school year and students with completed registration packets would be registered on a first come, first serve, basis.  After June 15, any open slots would be given to out of county students who've completed the registration process.  Documents required for registration are Birth Certificate; Social Security Card; Immunization Record (Form 3230); Vision, Hearing, Dental & Nutrition Record (Form 3300); Proof of Residence; and verification of Medicaid, Food Stamps, SSI, TANF, if applicable.

Registration is open at Bleckley Pre K, 242 E Dykes St, from 7:30 am-4 pm, Monday through Thursday.  Call (478)934-9094 with any questions.

Millie Smith, a third grade teacher in just her second year at Bleckley Elementary, was announced as District Teacher of the Year at Friday's end of year convocation.  To read more coverage from the event, click here.

BCHS to stream graduation ceremonies.

Time change for Virtual School interest meeting.

The start time for Thursday's meeting to discuss a virtual/online school program that would be open to home school students, private school students, as well as students in traditional schools interested in a different learning enviroment, has been changed to a 6 pm start.  It will be held in the BCMS Media Center.

Bleckley BOE approves 2017-18 Coaching/Extra Curricular staffing plan.

At Tuesday night's monthly meeting, the Bleckly Board of Education approved the 2017-18 coachng and extra curricular staffing plan for both BCHS and BCMS.  One of the new coaches will be Randall Owens.  Hired earlier this year, Owens will be on the football staff of new head coah Von Lassiter and will be boys head basketball coach.
