Bleckley Splits Close Sub-Region Games at Dodge County

The Lady Royals had leads in the second and third quarters and were tied with Dodge County going into the fourth.

However, an 11-3 Squaws run put the gameout of reach as the Lady Royals lost 49-41.

Rickenya Jenkins and Tyresha Williams had 13 points each.

The Royals had a lead of four points with one minute left in regulation only to see Dodge send the game into overtime.  A five-point lead with less than two miniutes remaining would not be enough as the Indians used a buzzer-beating three to force a second extra frame.  In that extra session, Bleckley hit three of four free throws.  Savon Walters' hit with 47 seconds left proved to be the game winner for BCHS 50-49.

Bleckley plays at Howard High School Saturday.  Tip time is 1 p.m.
