After going down 3-0 early, BCHS awoke to shut down the Golden Hawks 9-4, sweeping the season series.  Read more here.

J.R. Fordham, Brody Little, and Willie Harris all homered as BCHS won 22-0 at Washington County Monday afternoon. Little went 3 for 4 from the plate with 5 RBI and also gave up just two hits. Fordham was 3 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI. Matthew Bland went 2 for 5 with 2 RBI. Conner Senters went 1 for 2. The Royals and Golden Hawks play today in Cochran at 5:45 pm.

BCHS holding athletic physicals April 15.

Bleckley County High School will hold athletic physicals for the 2021-22 school year April 15 at 6 pm in the high school gym.  Cost is $10 and is required for any middle or high school student wishing to attend conditioning and/or participate in any sport.  Paperwork on DragonFly must be at 80 percent to attend, it can't be filled out on the DragonFly app.  Move to the front of the line by having your DragonFly paperwork at 80 percent by April 11.  Contact Heather Davis, hdavis@bleckleyschools.org, with any questions.

City to allow public attendance at council meetings in May.

As Governor Brian Kemp will be removing limits on public gatherings on April 8, the City of Cochran will begin allowing the public to attend council meetings starting in May. According to a Facebook post, public attendance will be allowed starting with the May 11 meeting. Masks and social distancing will be required to attend. The April 12 meeting will still be closed to the public but streamed via Facebook Live.
